Job summary

Michael House Pregnancy Care Centre in Guelph, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the organization, advance its mission, and steward its staff, programs and finances.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will set strategic direction, foster a collaborative, accountable workplace, manage risks, and build strong community relationships to support pregnant women and their children.

Qualifications

• University degree in business, nonprofit management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive nonprofit leadership or management experience.
• Experience building and developing staff and healthy teams.
• Strong organizational, operational and financial management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Knowledge of Ontario and federal charitable requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with a volunteer Board of Directors.
• Alignment with Michael House's mission and values.
• Experience in trauma-informed care, fundraising, or faith-based settings is a plus.

• Maintain a transparent and collaborative relationship with the Board and provide timely information on significant organizational matters.
• Serve as an ambassador for Michael House and build strong relationships with funders, donors, churches, community organizations and service partners.

Michael House Pregnancy & Parenting Support Services is a faith-based charitable organization serving pregnant and parenting women and their children in Guelph and Wellington County. The Opportunity

Michael House is seeking an experienced, compassionate and collaborative Executive Director to lead the organization and guide its continued growth and development. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides overall leadership and management of Michael House, with responsibility for staff, programs and operations, financial stewardship, fundraising and community relationships. We are looking for a visible and engaged leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands‑on leadership in a small nonprofit environment. The successful candidate will build strong relationships, foster a healthy and accountable workplace culture, and ensure Michael House continues to provide high‑quality and responsive services to the women and children we serve.

What We're Looking For

• University degree in business, social services, nonprofit management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership or management experience, preferably in a nonprofit, charitable, social-service or related environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing staff and building healthy, accountable teams.
• Strong organizational, operational and financial management skills.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and decision‑making skills.
• Knowledge of relevant Ontario and federal requirements affecting charitable organizations.
• Ability to work effectively with a volunteer Board of Directors and understand the distinction between governance and operational leadership.
• Alignment with and ability to authentically represent Michael House's mission and values.

Additional assets include experience supporting pregnant and parenting women or individuals facing complex barriers; knowledge of trauma‑informed care, mental health, addictions, attachment or infant development; fundraising or grant development experience; and experience within a faith‑based or community‑based organization.
