With a focus on enhancing quality of life, dignity, and respect, we provide a warm, home-like environment where residents feel safe, valued, and engaged.

Our care model is rooted in evidence-based practices and aligns with provincial regulations and high-reliability care principles. We emphasize continuous quality improvement, innovation, and a holistic approach to senior living. Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals and support staff work collaboratively to ensure that every resident receives the highest standard of care tailored to their unique needs.

At Mill Creek Care Centre, we go beyond traditional long-term care—our mission is to foster a vibrant, supportive community where residents can thrive physically, emotionally, and socially.

Position Overview:

The Executive Director (ED) reports to the Vice President of Operations or their designate and is responsible for effectively managing human, physical, and financial resources to ensure high-quality resident care. This role holds primary accountability for the Home’s day-to-day operations and serves as its official spokesperson. The Executive Director oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Home’s privacy policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards. Additionally, as a key strategic partner, the ED balances risk management and privacy compliance while aligning with the Home’s business objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the official spokesperson for the Home, representing the organization in internal and external communications.
  • Provide strategic direction, aligning operational objectives with the Home’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Ensure compliance with The Fixing Long-Term Care Act (2021), Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) standards, and all relevant legislation.
  • Oversee the continuous quality improvement program, identifying risks and implementing strategies to enhance resident safety and care quality.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, and performance management processes to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Provide guidance on labour relations, interpreting collective agreements, and addressing employee concerns.
  • Develop and manage the Home’s operating and capital budgets, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Monitor expenses, optimize resource utilization, and identify funding opportunities.
  • Serve as the Privacy Officer, ensuring compliance with PHIPA and other privacy legislation.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, staff, regulatory bodies, and community partners.
  • Represent Mill Creek Care Centre in industry committees and associations, influencing policy direction and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership experience in healthcare, with a strong background in senior management roles.
  • Current Long-Term Care Administrator Certification, meeting all FLTCA requirements.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Health Administration, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or a related discipline is an asset).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in healthcare, preferably in long-term care.
  • Extensive knowledge of The Fixing Long-Term Care Act (2021), along with a strong understanding of regulatory standards and best practices set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, Regulated Health Professionals Act, Substitute Decisions Act, Consent to Treatment Act, and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
Compensation:
  • A competitive compensation package has been designed to attract star performers.
