We are looking for an Executive Creative Director (ECD) to join our team to support both our Brands and Control Brands’ marketing initiatives. As an Executive Creative Director, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the creative vision and strategy of an organization. This individual will lead and manage a team of creative professionals across various disciplines, driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional and impactful creative work. The Executive Creative Director plays a pivotal role in elevating the brand's image, enhancing customer experiences, and driving business growth through creative excellence.

The Executive Creative Director, Control Brands will report directly to the VP, Loblaw Agency and oversee a team of creatives who support the Retail Banner portfolio.

What you’ll do:
  • Set and communicate the overall creative direction, vision, and strategy for the organization
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a consistent and compelling brand identity across all communication channels
  • Lead the creation of integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring all creative elements are cohesive and effective in engaging target audiences
  • Lead and inspire a team of creative professionals to execute best‑in‑class brand experiences across a diverse range of brands and channels
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to foster professional growth and development within the creative team
  • Foster an environment of innovation and experimentation to drive the evolution of creative concepts
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including marketing, product, and merchandising to align creative efforts with overall business objectives
  • Collaborate with clients, partners, and stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback, and incorporate insights into creative strategies
  • Utilize previous campaign results to evolve subsequent campaigns
  • Be the voice of the customer and champion innovative brand experiences
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and creative best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation
What you’ll need:
  • 10-15+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record of creative leadership and management experience (agency experience preferred)
  • Proven ability in leading large teams through an agile process of investigation, ideation and implementation
  • Strong leadership experience in managing and mentoring teams across diverse projects
  • Understanding of brand management, customer experience methodology, marketing
  • Effective time management skills
  • Extensive experience in both online and offline marketing
  • Understanding financials and ability to manage a budget
  • Candidates should have an award‑winning portfolio
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree—preferably in Advertising, Design, English, Communications, or a similar discipline
