Job summary

SYSTRA Canada is seeking a Soils Specialist to join the Rail & Transit Projects team. Reporting to Environmental Head, you will review investigations, identify data gaps, and develop DD&I scope for soil-related work in Ontario.

You will lead a subject matter team, coordinate with owners and contractors on RPRA registrations, oversee soil characterization, reuse and disposal, and ensure compliance with CAN/CSA and Ontario regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years experience on large rail & transit projects.
• Degree in Hydrogeology, Environmental Planning/Engineering or related field.
• Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng) is an asset; Qualified Person per O.Reg 153/03.

Responsibilities

• Review investigations and reports and identify data gaps.
• Develop and manage the Excess Soils Management Plan and related processes.
• Lead the DD&I work team and ensure design integration and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate owner/contractor registration of the Project Area on RPRA.
• Oversee soil characterization, reuse strategies, and off-site disposal requirements.
