Overview

Our client on Vancouver Island is now recruiting for another full time GP to join their thriving practice. The Comox Valley, known as 'Land of Plenty' has a temperate climate and a vibrant community with amenities such as cafes, pubs, restaurants, cinema, parks, and marina. The area offers a convenient lifestyle with minimal commute times and easy access to Nanaimo and Vancouver via Comox Airport. The Comox Valley is a world class destination with tourism, outdoor activities, and a ski resort (Mount Washington).

We are a two-site clinic, one in Courtenay and one in Comox. The practice supports a collegial environment with strong collaboration among physicians and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive general practice care as a full-time GP within a two-site clinic (Courtenay and Comox).
  • Collaborate with a stable and cohesive group of colleagues (10 GPs and a dermatologist) and support staff; benefit from a collegial atmosphere and ongoing peer support.
  • Engage in clinic operations such as billing optimization with staff and communication with MSP when uncertainty arises.
  • Utilize EMR and contribute to ongoing optimization to support physicians and staff; the practice is moving toward near paperless operations.
  • Participate in teaching and training opportunities with UBC training sites, medical students, and residents attached to the clinics.

  • Doctors retain 75% of all patient billings.
  • Currently 10 GPs and a dermatologist; the team supports families.
  • 14,000 registered patients; emphasis on stable, long-term engagement.
  • Focus areas include obstetrics/women's health, hospital work, urgent care, orthopaedics/MSK medicine, seniors health, and care for marginalised/LGBT communities.
  • Turn-key facilities with fully supportive clinic staff; dedicated on-site support to streamline daily workflows and ensure clarity in billing with MSP.
  • Both clinics are recognized as UBC training sites with ongoing involvement of medical students and residents.
