Overview
We are looking for an Events Marketing Manager who will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing marketing strategies for events, ranging from corporate meetings to large‑scale conferences, trade shows, and promotional activations. This role combines event management with marketing expertise to create engaging, memorable experiences that align with brand objectives and drive audience engagement.
Responsibilities
Event Planning & Strategy
- Design, develop, and implement event marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals to drive registrations, attendance, engagement, and conversion for the Retail North America region/vertical
- Identify key target audiences and create tailored marketing campaigns and communications to attract and engage them.
- Execute all campaign elements, continually review performance metrics, identify innovative new ways to drive demand, and revise campaigns accordingly.
- Conduct customer insights calls, understand the customer’s needs, and translate research insights into customer‑centric marketing.
- Work in close conjunction with regional marketing, sales, partnerships, product, and customer teams to ultimately achieve new client acquisition through digital and physical events.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including content and design marketing, product, and sales teams to ensure seamless event execution.
Event Promotion
- Design and execute digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, social media, and content creation.
- Leverage SEO, PPC, and other digital tools to enhance event visibility and registration.
- Build partnerships with influencers, sponsors, and media to increase event reach.
- Utilize data and analytics to measure campaign success and adjust tactics accordingly.
Event Logistics & Execution
- Oversee event logistics, from venue selection to vendor management, to ensure smooth operations including North American travel to execute in‑person trade shows, events and brand activations.
- Coordinate with external vendors, speakers, entertainers, and suppliers.
- Manage event timelines, budgets, and ensure all deliverables are met on time.
Brand Integration
- Ensure all marketing materials, promotions, and event branding are consistent with the company’s brand identity.
- Develop compelling event themes and messaging to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
Content Creation & Communication
- Create engaging content for event websites, brochures, social media posts, and promotional emails.
- Develop post‑event content, such as follow‑up emails, surveys, blog posts, and videos to keep the conversation going.
Audience Engagement & Experience
- Design interactive, engaging experiences at the event to foster audience participation.
- Implement engagement tools like live polls, Q&A sessions, and virtual event platforms for hybrid or online events.
Post‑Event Evaluation
- Gather feedback through surveys, attendee interviews, and performance metrics to assess the success of each event.
- Prepare reports analyzing event outcomes, ROI, and areas for improvement.
- Use insights to improve future events and marketing strategies.
Budget & Resource Management
- Manage event marketing budgets, ensuring that campaigns and activities are executed within financial constraints.
- Track expenses and negotiate with vendors to obtain the best pricing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field. A master’s degree or certification in event management is a plus and experience in the Retail industry is a plus.
- 3‑5 years of experience in event marketing, project management, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing techniques (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing).
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Creativity and strategic thinking for designing engaging, innovative events.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and experience in content creation.
- Proficient in using marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, email marketing platforms, CRM systems, and event management software).
- Familiarity with event technologies, including virtual/hybrid event platforms and audience engagement tools.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and sponsors.
- Can travel frequently in person and maintain a flexible working schedule, including evenings and weekends on location.
- Problem‑solving skills to handle unforeseen situations calmly and effectively.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize dynamically according to goals.
- Detail‑oriented and able to manage all aspects of event execution without missing key details.
- Collaborative and a strong team player who can work with multiple departments and stakeholders.
Willingness to Travel
Travel across North America and work flexible hours to execute events (equivalent to approximately 10‑12 days per month).
Skills
Fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
