Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership is hiring for a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead overnight teams at our Toronto venues. You will manage staff, coordinate tasks, and ensure high cleanliness standards. The role requires a hospitality background and strong leadership and communication skills.

You will oversee SOPs, scheduling, vendor coordination, and safety training, contributing to a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for fans and guests.

Qualifications

• Overnight / stat holidays availability.
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
• Experience in housekeeping management or similar leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Establish goals and measurements for department supervisors and housekeeping staff.
• Develop and update job descriptions, task checklists, and SOPs for all supervisory roles.
• Supervise equipment and supply usage and place orders based on departmental needs.
• Meet with vendors to discuss housekeeping matters.
• Prioritize and supervise deep cleaning and job cycle projects.
• Schedule, train, assign, review, and evaluate staff performance.
• Prepare and maintain housekeeping records and reports.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and motivation to the team.
• Oversee safety tools and WHMIS training, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Ensure adherence to service standards and policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Establish goals, measurements, and results for the department supervisors along with the housekeeping staff.
• Develop and update job descriptions, job task checklists, and standard operating procedures for all department supervisors and housekeeping staff.
• Supervise equipment and supply usage and place orders based on departmental needs.
• Meet with various vendors to discuss all matters relating to the housekeeping department.
• Prioritize, implement, and supervise all deep cleaning and job cycle projects for the facility.
• Schedule, train, assign, review, and evaluate the work of assigned staff.
• Prepare and maintain required housekeeping records and reports.
• Assign responsibility, take corrective action, demonstrate leadership, evaluate, mentor, and motivate the housekeeping supervisory team and staff.
• Supervise with facts, focus on results, provide clear direction, and encourage innovations.
• Oversee equipment, tags, and reports deficiencies.
• Complete building inspections to ensure tasks are completed, MLSE cleaning standards are met, and adherence to cleaning procedures.
• Monitor and revise departmental health and safety tools, including WHMIS training programs, as needed.
• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained and that all colleagues are committed to working safely.
• Ensure adherence to MLSE service standards and policies.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Available to work overnight / statutory holidays.
• A university or college degree, preferably in hospitality management is an asset.
• Housekeeping management experience with thorough knowledge of modern cleaning practices and equipment is an asset.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Ability to supervise, lead, and balance multiple priorities/tasks.
• Clear verbal & written communication skills.
• Must be able to lead team-building, morale, and service culture within the department.
• Arena/multi-purpose facility experience preferred.
• Ability to work while under pressure; meet tight deadlines.
• Previous experience in a unionized work environment is beneficial.
• Must be highly organized and energetic.

Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate

$25.40/hr
