An event decor company in Alberta seeks a Balloon Setup Coordinator to oversee all aspects of balloon arrangements for events. Responsibilities include coordinating the team, ensuring quality and safety during setup and takedown, and liaising with clients. Candidates should have a high school diploma and experience in event decor or balloon work is preferred. Physical capability and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
Oversee the entire balloon setup and takedown operation.
Coordinate and lead the balloon team during preparation, setup, and teardown.
Read and interpret event layout plans or design mockups.
Ensure materials, colors, and quantities match client requirements.
Supervise safety practices, including handling of helium/gas tank and elevated work.
Liaise with event coordinators, clients, and vendors to ensure timely completion.
Conduct final quality checks on balloon arrangements before the event opens.
Create and install balloon designs and structures.
Inflate balloons using helium, air pumps, or other inflators according to design needs.
Assemble arches, columns, garlands, walls, or ceiling installations.
Apply branding, stickers, or color schemes based on event theme.
Perform on-site adjustments for balance, symmetry, and presentation.
Deflate, dismantle, and properly dispose of or recycle balloons after events.
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in event setup, decor, or balloon work preferred (1–2 years).
Candidates without experience can be trained if able to perform manual tasks and are reliable.
Basic knowledge of balloon materials, inflation techniques, and color coordination.
Physically capable of lifting, climbing ladders, and working long hours on-site.
Attention to detail, neatness, and presentation quality.
Able to work under tight deadlines and in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
Willingness to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedule.
Valid CLASS 3 driver’s license (for logistics or lead crew) is an advantage.
