Job summary

Citi is seeking a Core Java Developer to join the Rates eTrading team in a high-profile front-office platform role. You will design and develop next-generation trading applications, collaborating with traders, sales, and quants to drive innovation and maintainability.

You will work with a global, distributed team using Agile practices and modern tooling to ensure performance and reliability in a fast-paced financial environment.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience in server-side Core Java and multi-threading.
• Experience with the Spring framework, Linux, and relational databases.
• Strong architectural understanding of enterprise applications.
• Experience with Agile, test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Understand CS fundamentals including concurrency, algorithms, data structures and design patterns.
• Experience developing large-scale financial trading systems with focus on performance.
• Experience in Agile, globally distributed teams using Jira, GitHub, Sonar, and TeamCity.
• Proficiency with IDEs and build tools such as IntelliJ and Gradle.
• Experience with ION, KDB, JSON/XML, and REST services is preferred.
• Experience with AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Devin is preferred.

Preferred

• Knowledge of major Fixed Income Products (Repos, US Treasuries, Interest Rate Swaps) and Broker/Customer Markets electronic trading flows.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience


• Master’s degree preferred
