Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, BI, or related field.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modeling concepts.
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and BI best practices.
• Experience with large datasets and translating business requirements into reporting solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage.

Responsibilities:

Power BI Development & Reporting

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support business and operational needs.
• Create data models, measures, and calculations using DAX to deliver meaningful business insights.
• Implement data visualization best practices to ensure reports are intuitive, accessible, and actionable.
• Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
• Develop and maintain enterprise semantic models, datasets, and reusable reporting assets that support standardized analytics and reporting

Data Integration & Analytics Support

• Connect and integrate data from various enterprise data sources, including databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and data warehouses.
• Develop and optimize Power Query (M) transformations for efficient data preparation and reporting.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, governance, and consistency across reporting solutions.
• Support ad hoc data analysis and reporting requests from business stakeholders.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity.

Performance, Governance & Support

• Monitor and optimize report performance, data refresh schedules, and workspace administration.
• Apply security models, row-level security (RLS), and governance standards within Power BI.
• Troubleshoot data, visualization, and performance issues and provide ongoing support to users.
• Develop and maintain documentation for reports, datasets, and reporting standards.
• Maintain data lineage, metadata, and documentation for reporting assets and semantic models.
• Ensure reporting solutions comply with organizational data governance, security, privacy, and accessibility standards.

Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Sharing

• Work closely with business users to understand reporting requirements and identify opportunities for enhanced analytics.
• Provide guidance and training to report consumers and business teams on Power BI capabilities and best practices.
• Participate in Agile delivery teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Must Have:

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modeling concepts.
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and business intelligence best practices.
• Experience working with large datasets and transforming complex business requirements into reporting solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, star schema design, and analytical data modelling concepts.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage principles.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with Databricks, including connecting Power BI to Databricks SQL Warehouses and Lakehouse data sources.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Platform services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience with enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives.
• Knowledge of Python, R, or other analytics tools.
• Experience supporting data and analytics platforms within a large public-sector or enterprise environment.
• Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices.
