## Python (Ab Initio) EngineerApply: Hybrid: Mississauga Ontario Canada: Full time: Posted Today: 26994396The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.**Responsibilities:*** Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex Data processing and analysis script using Oracle PL SQL programming, Python scripting , Unix Shell Scripting ,etc. for processing large datasets, leveraging expertise in distributed computing and data manipulation.* Partner with management teams to seamlessly integrate with ETL Framework & Spark-based solutions into existing data infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance .* Data integration delivery: Design, build, and operate robust batch process* Create Reconciliation process to validate data post ETL batch data load process : Develop and optimize workflows using smart automated data reconciliation* Create reusable patterns for ingestion, transformation, and automation data testing* Good to have knowledge to build Python engineering: Build Python-based utilities and frameworks for data loads,* Expert in automation, validation, reconciliation, and operational tooling.* SQL excellence: Write and tune complex SQL (query optimization, indexing strategy awareness, incremental loads, CDC patterns, and performance troubleshooting).* Data quality and controls: Implement validation rules, error handling, auditability, and reconciliation controls; create monitoring/alerting to meet SLAs* Architecture and design: Contribute to system architecture and integration design decisions (data contracts, schemas, versioning, resiliency).* Collaboration: Work closely with different workstream of application teams, enterprise architects, and analytics consumers to align on data definitions and delivery priorities.* Operational ownership: Participate in release planning, production support, incident triage, and continuous improvement to enhance reliability and reduce run-time cost.* Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards* Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint* Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation* Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals* Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions* Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. **Qualifications:*** 4+ years of extensive professional experience in Oracle PL SQL program development using Java/Python/Spark/Kafka/Abinitio ETL technologies and Oracle as database.* Proven experience with shell scripting for large-scale data processing and distributed computing.* Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle Database and Database housekeeping activities.* Strong understanding of data architecture principles and data infrastructure.* Good to have hands on Experience on Python in developing complex ETL applications.* Proficiency with Oracle PL/SQL or SQL, SQL tuning, writing packages, triggers, functions and procedures.* Expert in UNIX knowledge* Experience with data conversion / migration* Excellent trouble shooting and debugging skills.* Experience with developing and maintaining coding standards, testing, and debugging for complex applications.* Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.* Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with experience partnering with various stakeholders.* Knowledge of risk assessment, data security, performance optimization, and scalability considerations.* Good to have exposure and hands on reporting tools like Tableau, Micro strategy, etc. **Education:*** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.* Master’s degree preferred
