We are a small, nimble, and collaborative team. We are looking for a thinker / doer to fill our ETF Data Specialist role. Reporting into the Head of Digital Product, this role will be directly responsible for the ETF related data that appears on VettaFi’s B2C platform, which includes ETFdb.com, AdvisorPerspectives.com, and ETFStream.com.

Please note that our company is not currently sponsoring work permit applications and the applicant must be authorized to work in the country where this position is located.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive Data Intelligence & AI Accuracy: Serve as the crucial "human in the loop," auditing, fine‑tuning, and optimizing LLM‑generated classifications, descriptions, and data extractions.
  • Architect the ETF Ontology: Build, refine, and maintain a single source of truth—our unified ETF taxonomy and ontology—to set the standard for asset class categorization.
  • Ensure Uncompromising Quality: Own the end‑to‑end accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of market data across all VettaFi web properties.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure the right market data reaches the right investor at the exact right moment.
  • Manage Vendor Relationships: Serve as the primary liaison to key market data vendors, ensuring seamless integration, high data quality, and strong technical alignment.
  • Define Success: Establish and monitor clear data KPIs, continuously raising the bar for system performance, efficiency, and platform precision.
What We’re Looking For
  • The "Utility Player" Mindset: A proactive, highly organized problem solver who seamlessly pivots between high-level strategy and granular technical execution.
  • Market Data Savvy: Deep familiarity with the asset management landscape, ETF structures, and financial market data vendors.
  • Technical & Analytical Chops: Comfortable analyzing complex datasets using SQL and leveraging modern AI workflows (e.g., prompt engineering for LLMs).
  • Collaborative Communicator: Proven ability to translate technical data nuances into actionable insights for product managers, engineers, and executive stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years in the asset management or financial technology industry, with a focus on product management, data product ownership, or data operations.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL and hands‑on competence with LLM prompting and evaluation techniques.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Bonus Points: Existing relationships with major financial market data vendors and direct experience building taxonomy/ontology frameworks.

Salary Range: $80,000K/year - $90,000K/year USD
