Job summary

Bird Construction is a leading Canadian builder with over 100 years of experience powering communities. We are seeking an Estimator, Renewables (Wind) to support wind energy projects across Eastern Canada, from early pursuit through delivery.

You will prepare detailed cost estimates, complete quantity take-offs, and analyze tender documents. The role requires experience in renewable energy or related sectors, strong civil construction knowledge, and collaborative teamwork with operations,

Qualifications

• Experience estimating construction projects in renewable energy, power, industrial, or infrastructure.
• Wind project estimating experience is a strong asset.
• Strong understanding of civil construction, foundations, electrical infrastructure, and means/methods.
• Ability to prepare accurate quantity take-offs and competitive cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for wind energy and renewable power projects, including turbine foundations, access roads, substations, collector systems, and balance-of-plant scopes.
• Complete quantity take-offs and develop labour, equipment, material, and subcontractor pricing.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents.
• Analyze project risks and opportunities and support bid strategy development.
• Collaborate with operations, project management, engineering, and procurement teams throughout the pursuit process.
• Support bid submissions and project handovers.
