Job summary

ATCO Electric is seeking an Estimator II to partner with project managers and others to develop and document project estimates at multiple stages. You will gather scope information, adjust estimates by discipline, and ensure cost data is captured accurately in the estimating database.

The role supports Transmission and Distribution projects and non-regulated opportunities. You will mentor Estimator I’s and contribute to tool development while maintaining cost databases and ensuring contract

Qualifications

• Technical or business diploma in related field.
• 3–5 years of estimating experience.
• Knowing transmission and/or distribution systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates based on project scope and adjust rates with discipline groups.
• Review, coordinate, and verify discipline estimates and assumptions.
• Map costs over project schedules and explain variances.
• Analyze actual vs estimate costs and highlight variances.
• Lead project meetings on estimate values and scope.
• Document estimates and costs in estimating database.
• Maintain historical estimates and update unit estimating rates.
• Support development of the Excel estimating tool.
