Job summary

Artitalia Group Inc. in Montréal-Est, QC, is seeking an estimator to join our team. The role focuses on preparing detailed analyses of product production costs and collaborating with multiple departments to respond to requests for proposals.

The estimator will determine costs and selling prices, manage estimation documents, and identify opportunities to improve processes. Strong communication in French and English and experience in manufacturing cost estimation are valued.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in a similar position.
• Experience estimating custom products.
• Manufacturing cost estimation.
• Good knowledge of metal and/or wood processing.
• Bilingual French and English required.

• Manage estimation documents

Artitalia Group is currently looking for an estimator to join our team.

The main objective of the estimator will be to prepare detailed analyses of product production costs. He/she will collaborate with various departments to respond to customer requests for proposals.

Responsibilities

• Determine the costs and selling prices of products
• Manage estimation documents
• Other tasks

1- Determine the costs and selling prices of the products

• Calculate raw material requirements
• Determine methods and evaluate manufacturing times for estimated products.
• Approach suppliers for price requests for raw materials and services for estimated product.
• Make sure to collect all the information necessary for estimates from buyers, customers, project managers, etc.

2 – Manage estimation documents

• Archive copies of relevant documents and communications in the submission file
• Communicate relevant information to project managers

3 – Other Tasks

• Analyze, identify and establish opportunities to improve processes and methods
• Maintain pre-established KPIs and analyze variances
• Participate in the team’s efforts to achieve the department’s goals
• Comply with the instructions and policies of the company as well as the Estimation department
• Works on moderately complex projects with minimal supervision
• Masters the tools and procedures of the department
• Knows the different manufacturing capabilities of the company
• Able to make estimates with minimal information

Requirements

• DEC/BAC in Mechanical Engineering, or any other relevant discipline or any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant
• Experience
  • 3-5 years in a similar position

  • Manufacturing cost estimation
• Specific Knowledge
  • Good knowledge of the technical processes of metal and/or wood processing
