Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the mechanical, M&E, or construction sector.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge or trade background.
• Demonstrable experience estimating projects between £100k – £2m.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
• Comfortable working full-time in the Essex office.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and scope documentation to develop accurate cost proposals.
• Prepare detailed mechanical estimates for projects within the £100k – £2m range.
• Conduct material take-offs, labour analysis, and subcontractor/supplier pricing.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure estimate accuracy.
• Develop and maintain estimating templates, cost databases, and pricing models.
• Manage tender submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
• Assist in value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Provide clear handovers to project delivery teams post-award.
