Job summary

St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centre at the Waterloo Catholic District School Board seeks a Supply Instructor for ESL/LINC programs in Kitchener. You will prepare CLB-appropriate lessons, deliver learner-centered instruction, and use PBLA and Avenue.ca in both in-person and remote settings.

The role requires a post-secondary degree and TESL training; OCELT is desirable. Expect Monday–Friday sessions with on-call hours and a compensation of $40.13 per hour plus vacation pay.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree from an accredited institution.
• Formal Adult ESL instruction Training or TESL program registration.
• OCELT certification is desirable for permanent roles.
• Proficiency in oral and written English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CLB-level ESL/LINC lessons aligned with guidelines.
• Deliver learner-centered instruction with cultural sensitivity.
• Assess learners and use CLB-based tools for progress.
• Implement PBLA and use Avenue.ca for materials.
• Support students with Chromebooks in-person and online.
• Teach both in-person and online classes as required.
