Job summary

Brock University is seeking a part-time ESL instructor under CUPE4207-3 for the 2026 fall term. The position runs from September 9, 2026 to December 16, 2026, with nominal hours up to 130 and compensation per CUPE 4207 Unit 3 collective agreement.

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-3 (Employee Group)

Nominal Hours: 130 hours Salary: $35.55-$37.88/hour (As outlined in the CUPE 4207, Unit 3 Collective Agreement) Employment: PART-TIME (9 September 2026 to 16 December 2026) Start Date: 9 September 2026

Duties
  • Teaching all courses as assigned in the scheduled period of instruction.
  • Preparing course syllabus and lesson plans, ensuring alignment with course and program learning outcomes.
  • Marking and evaluation of in-class work and record keeping.
  • Attending pre-sessional instructor orientation sessions, as well as post session grade review meeting.
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with colleagues and staff.
  • Attending departmental meetings.
  • Participating in events such as closing ceremonies and orientation.
  • Contributing to a positive work environment.
Qualifications

In most circumstances the minimum qualifications for a new non-credit appointment shall be the Bachelor degree and TESL Certificate with a supervised practicum; Master’s level qualifications in related areas – e.g. Applied Linguistics, English, Languages – shall also be taken into account; post-secondary teaching experience, especially in ESL/EFL, and particularly overseas, is very desirable.
