Health Sciences North (HSN) is seeking an innovative individual for the position of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism and Accessibility Manager and who preferably has lived experience with racialization, cultural discrimination, gender or sex-based discrimination, experiences of ableism and/or as a visible minority, ethnic minority, member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community or members of other marginalized communities. In this role, you will champion HSN’s commitment to social accountability by advancing an equitable, diverse and inclusive environment for patients, families, staff, learners, medical staff, volunteers, and community partners aligned with HSN’s values, Strategic Plan, Ontario Health and Accreditation Canada standards. You will foster open dialogue, raise awareness, and implement evidence-based and lived-experience-informed structures and processes, while cultivating a culture that actively promotes equity, dismantles discrimination, racism and removes barriers to have a culture that embraces equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism and accessibility across all levels of the organization. You will also support and work cooperatively with our other members of the organization addressing Indigenous Health, Francophone Health and other matters related to health equity and social accountability.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies and/or Humanities, Human Resources, Law, Organizational Development, Equity Studies, Social Work, Public Health or a related field, from an accredited university.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with diverse and marginalized populations, including program management and implementation – preferably in a health care environment. The ideal candidate will also have three (3) years’ experience working in a leadership role, with accountability in organizational culture, equity, diversity practices and systems, health equity, social accountability, change management and human rights, preferably in a health care or public sector environment. Preference will be given to candidates with clinical experience, training or recent experience with project management and proficiency with data management software.

Candidates that possess Master’s Degree, in a related field, from an accredited university, Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP) certification or equivalent and membership with the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion are preferred.
