The District of West Vancouver Engineering Construction Department has an exciting opportunity for a Replacement Temporary Full-Time Equipment Operator II position to perform street sweeping tasks with a mechanical street sweeper for approximately two (2) years. The Equipment Operator II will be operating a large vehicle with a wide variety of controls and devices, in congested traffic and busy pedestrian areas and performing daily trip equipment inspections and submit daily inspection reports. The Equipment Operator II will also be responsible for cleaning and making service repairs to the sweeper as required.
The preferred candidate will have completed secondary school and has experience operating a range of equipment used in general roads and boulevard construction and maintenance. A valid Class 3 BC Driver’s License is considered an asset. The successful candidate will demonstrate mechanical aptitude and the physical ability to safely perform assigned duties in all types of weather conditions.
Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable driving record, a police information check, and copies of relevant credentials.
