Job summary

A local dental practice in Northeastern Ontario is seeking a full-time dental assistant. The role requires substantial collaboration with dentists during treatments, sterilization of tools, and assisting in various procedures. No prior experience is necessary, as training will be provided. The position requires the ability to manage patient records and maintain a clean work environment. Bilingual skills are preferred. This role will involve work at both Noëlville and Sudbury locations initially, transitioning to Noëlville only.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during treatments and handle instruments.
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
• Prepare materials for dental procedures.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).

• Provide instructions on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Ensure the operatory is clean and organized.

• The position requires working at both the Noëlville and Sudbury (x2 per month) location for now but will eventually be full-time in Noëlville only

• Working alongside dentists during treatments, handling instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear and dry field.
• Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments and equipment to prevent infection.
• Preparing materials like fillings, compounds, and other dental materials.
• Taking dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Maintaining infection control protocols.
• Managing patient records and ordering supplies.
• Providing instructions on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Ensuring the operatory is clean and organized.
