Job description

General Manager, Canada

We want everyone to live life by the compass, not by the clock. Envoyage is a global network of experienced, entrepreneurial travel advisors and agencies across the world. As part of Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), we’ve got the breadth, reach and expertise to equip travel businesses.

We know that just as every trip is unique, so is every travel business. This is why we’ve created Envoyage with travel advisors in mind. Our goal is to be the home and the heart of the travel industry for the independent world and to build an unparalleled offering you can tap into as much or as little as you need to succeed, grow and thrive.

FCTG, headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, is one of the world’s largest travel retailers and corporate travel managers, with operations in 23 countries and a presence in over 90 through independent networks. Since opening its first shop in 1982, FCTG has remained committed to its purpose: “to open up the world for those who want to see,” creating unforgettable travel experiences for people worldwide.

About The Opportunity

Envoyage is a fast-growing global network of travel entrepreneurs spanning the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. With exceptional growth and a strong trajectory ahead, we are seeking a strategic and commercially focused General Manager to lead Envoyage Canada into its next phase of success.

In this leadership role, you will have ultimate responsibility for business growth, profitability, customer engagement, and operational excellence across the Canadian network. You will lead a high-performing team, influence industry partners, and play a key role in shaping both local and global strategy. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact while working alongside an ambitious global leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive profitable market share growth across the independent travel sector, with a focus on acquiring new agents and agencies.
  • Lead high-value sales opportunities and negotiations, articulating the Envoyage value proposition to prospective members.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
  • Lead and develop the National Sales Director and BDM team to achieve ambitious sales and growth targets.
  • Maintain ultimate accountability for the Envoyage Canada P&L.
  • Oversee business operations to ensure service excellence, member retention, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive commercial decision‑making to maximize profitability and support revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with Product and Supply teams to optimize channel strategies and focus on high‑margin opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate supplier reconciliations and revenue collection processes.
  • Develop and implement scalable growth strategies that support long‑term profitability.
  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate business risks while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through effective use of NPS, CSAT, and other performance metrics.
  • Create and execute customer engagement initiatives that strengthen community and increase share of wallet.
  • Resolve business challenges with a balance of customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high‑performing and engaged team.
  • Align team goals and resources with Envoyage and FCTG strategic priorities.
  • Embed Envoyage CVPs and Brand DNA throughout the organization.
  • Establish clear plans, goals, and performance expectations.
  • Provide coaching and performance management support where required.
  • Communicate openly, consistently, and transparently across the business.
  • Foster an AI‑forward culture by embedding AI tools and ways of working to improve efficiency and capability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, industry partners, and stakeholders.
  • Attend industry events and remain informed on market trends and opportunities.
  • Contribute to local and global strategic planning with senior leadership.
  • Deliver regular reporting on business performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and accessible work environment where all Flighties feel welcomed, respected, and supported to thrive.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven senior leadership experience with responsibility for business growth and operational performance.
  • Demonstrated success leading sales teams and driving profitable market share growth.
  • Strong experience with P&L management and commercial decision‑making.
  • Exceptional presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience developing and executing growth strategies within a scalable business environment.
  • Strong understanding of customer engagement, retention, and satisfaction metrics such as NPS and CSAT.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams.
  • Strong risk management and compliance awareness.
  • Experience building relationships with suppliers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
