A leading environmental services firm is seeking an Environmental Technician in Calgary, Alberta. The role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising field programs while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Our dynamic team is growing, and we have a new opportunity for an Environmental Technician with 4 plus years of experience to work in a multi-disciplinary team that solves complex issues for our clients throughout Alberta. The position is with the Remediation Program Management (RPM) team, which has offices across Canada. This role will include planning, coordination, supervision of field programs and ground disturbance activities, and preparing reports following each program. You participate in a team environment and work closely with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads, and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers. Clearly identify and understand project objectives, bringing your ideas and solutions to your project manager, project directors, mentors and developing well-understood specific work instructions and health and safety plans.
Guided by our Zero Harm policy and rigorous Health, Safety and Environment standards, with your knowledge and experience, support the development and improvement of project health and safety plans.
Participate and be a member of a 14-person region‑specific delivery team, while at the same time leveraging the experience and expertise of the entire 270‑person RPM group. Apply your love for the outdoors and complete fieldwork assignments centred around the Northern and Southern Alberta. Mentor junior staff in environmental practices including Phase 1 and 2 ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation and reclamation, as well as on site‑specific health and safety. Executing fieldwork occasionally in remote locations.
