Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services staff to perform cleaning and disinfection across hospital and facility environments, including sweeping, mopping, and restocking supplies. You will operate industrial cleaning equipment, handle linen duties, and participate in safety and infection control practices.

The role involves reporting hazards, supporting other Environmental or Laundry staff, and working a casual/relief schedule with day and weekend shifts at the Galahad Care

Qualifications

Your Opportunity

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience performing environmental Cleaning duties in a hospital or institution. Knowledge and application of WHMIS. Experience operating industrial cleaning equipment. Demonstrated proficiency in the English Language, both written and verbal; and Basic computer knowledge.
