Main Purpose and Function
The Landfill Gas Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for the efficient operation of the landfill gas control system at the Vancouver Landfill in Delta. More specifically, the position maximizes gas collection and utilization while at the same time minimizing the risk of landfill fire, emission of greenhouse gases/odours and ensuring the safety of the staff/public. Due care and attention are required at all times during data collection to identify problems and make operational adjustments or minor repairs to minimize the risk of fire/explosion. This position is based out the Vancouver Landfill in Delta, BC.
