Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Senior Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers.
  • Lead in the contaminated sites space and grow the business through active client engagement and project delivery.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates, schedule field staff and subcontractors, compile data for, and write, reports including conclusions and recommendations.
  • Responsible for project delivery, project accounting, tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Train junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation, and on-site health and safety.
  • Interface with clients to ensure needs are met and projects/proposals move forward; work with team to provide necessary support for completion.
  • Support growth objectives for Alberta market and develop strategic growth plans with other project managers.

Our dynamic team is growing, and we have a new opportunity for an Environmental Project Manager with 10-15 years of contaminated sites experience to work in a multi-disciplinary team that solves complex issues for our clients throughout the Prairies and Northern Canada. The position will support the growth and development of our Environmental Management team.

This role will include the planning and managing the environmental assessments and remediation across Alberta, interacting closely with our Edmonton and Calgary based teams, business development and market sector growth, and mentoring junior staff. Your Impact
  • You participate in a team environment, work closely with Project Coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers.
  • You are a leader in the contaminated sites space and will support the growth of our business through active client engagement and project delivery.
  • You prepare proposals and cost estimates, schedule field staff and subcontractors, compile data for, and write, reports including preparing conclusions and recommendations.
  • You are responsible for project delivery, project accounting, tracking and reporting requirements.
  • You train junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc. as well as on site specific health and safety.
  • You interface with clients to ensure needs are met and projects/proposals are moving forward - Work with other members of the team to ensure provision of the support necessary for completion of projects.
  • Support the business objectives of growth in the Alberta market. Work closely with other project managers to develop a strategic business growth plan.

  • University degree or diploma in engineering, or natural/earth sciences.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in contaminated site assessments and conceptual site models of across numerous market sectors.
  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.
  • Proven track record of business development and growth mindset. Ability to create opportunities and deliver on project execution.
Compensation:
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $132,700 - $175,800
  • MB & ON: $121,100 - $166,700
  • NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $119,900 - $159,200
