Stantec’s Transportation team has an immediate opportunity for an Environmental Planner to join our Hamilton office.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out the environmental component of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Preparing environmental documents for all phases of transportation projects from planning through to construction
  • Working with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to identify and address issues and permitting requirements
  • Coordinating public consultation programs, including open houses and project websites
  • Analyzing input from multi-disciplinary teams and consultants
  • Interacting with clients, regulators and stakeholders
  • Writing reports, proposals and presentations
  • Following quality assurance/quality control, and health and safety requirements
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree in Planning, Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences or Engineering and at least 6 years experience
  • Professional designation (e.g., MCIP, RPP) desirable
  • Demonstrated experience as an Environmental Planner on Provincial transportation infrastructure projects
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self‑motivated, with excellent technical writing and interpersonal communication skills

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
