A healthcare service provider is seeking a dependable Environmental Services II to ensure the cleanliness of patient rooms and clinical areas. Responsibilities include operating industrial cleaning equipment and ensuring high standards are met. Basic training will be provided for safe cleaning practices, along with a competitive pay rate. This role is suitable for individuals who can communicate well and lift moderate weights, enhancing the safety and hygiene in the facility.
Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As an Environmental II, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with intensive or specialized cleaning within a hospital or facility associated with industrial cleaning supplies and by using powered industrial equipment. Your typical duties may include operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance, thorough washing of ceilings and windows and emptying hazardous waste. You may also provide training/orientation to Environmental staff.
Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of a computer including Microsoft Office. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift. Physically capable to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs of force.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, able to follow oral and written instruction. Basic knowledge and operation of a computer and a smart phone. Must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.
Previous cleaning experience preferred. Experience performing cleaning duties in a healthcare environment would be an asset.
