Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences LP - Sciences is seeking an Environmental Hygiene Project Manager to join our Ottawa, Ontario team in a hybrid role. You will provide environmental consulting for property and business claims involving designated substances, water and mold, smoke assessments, and interior air quality issues.

The ideal candidate holds a Science/Engineering degree (professional designation asset) with five years in environmental work and two years in project management.

Qualifications

• Professional designation (ROH, ROHT or CIH) is considered an asset.
• Degree in Science or Engineering (Environmental preferred) or related diploma with applicable experience is considered an asset.
• A minimum of five years’ experience within the environmental field with at least two years of project management experience.
• Strong written and oral communication in English; French would be an asset.
• Ability and willingness to travel within Ontario; flexible schedule and after-hours work when required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for related commercial and residential claims including design of surveys and abatement plans.
• Project lifecycle management: scope, budget, site assessment, sampling, report writing, close-out.
• Coordinate with contractors and key stakeholders to plan abatement projects.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain client relationships.
• Support business development activities and maintain service levels.

With offices across Canada, Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences LP is a niche forensic engineering, environmental science, and remediation consulting firm that is a leader in providing services to insurance and risk management clients.

Pario has an existing opening for an Environmental Hygiene Project Manager to join our Environmental Hygiene team in Ottawa, Ontario. The successful candidate would be responsible for providing environmental consulting services for property and business claims involving designated substances, water and mold impacts, smoke assessments, interior air quality issues, and other chemical, physical and biohazardous risks. The right individual will need to be a dynamic, self-motivated and results-oriented professional.

In addition to environmental hygiene, there will be potential opportunities to assist with the project management of claims related to transportation, residential fuel oil, and commercial chemical spills.

Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for related commercial and residential claims including but not limited to: designated substance surveys; water and mold damage assessment and abatement, smoke mapping, interior air quality assessments.
• Project lifecycle including but not limited to: scope and budget preparation, site assessment and sampling, report writing, and project close-out.
• Potential cross training for emergency spill response and project management of fuel spill related claims.
• Technical report writing
• Communication and relationship development with clients
• Establishment and adherence to budgets and timelines
• Risk assessment and problem solving.
• Coordination and planning of small to large scale abatement projects alongside contractors and key stakeholders.
• Client engagement and participation in business development activities
• Develop and maintain industry leading service levels.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry is an asset.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Professional designation (ROH, ROHT or CIH) is considered an asset.
• Degree in Science or Engineering (Environmental preferred) or related diploma with applicable experience is considered an asset.
• A minimum of five years’ experience within the environmental field with at least two years of project management experience
• Successful and proven project management experience in relevant industry (hygiene, restoration, technical consulting, environmental)
• Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and collaboration software
• Strong written and oral communication in English; French would be an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team player and results oriented.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
• Successful candidate must have a flexible schedule; willingness to work after hours on weekends when required

Environment/Working Conditions :

• Based in Ottawa, Ontario.
• Ability to travel across Ontario as required

Competitive Compensation: $70-90K/year
