Job summary

A small environmental consulting firm is seeking a qualified safety representative for on-site oversight on projects. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of construction experience and at least 5 years in EHS Management. Responsibilities include daily inspections, toolbox talks, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Immediate start at the Tannersville Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Qualifications

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in construction.
  • Minimum 5 years in construction EHS Management.
  • Completed OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training.

Responsibilities

  • Completing at least two inspections daily.
  • Providing toolbox talks and safety orientations.
  • Verifying operator qualifications by training certification.

Job description

Strategic Safety Solutions, a small environmental, health and safety consulting firm is seeking a qualified safety representative that can provide on-site environmental, health and safety oversight on 3 NYC DEP Projects.

Work at Tannersville Wastewater Treatment Plant will start immediately.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have At least 8-10 years of experience in construction with at least 5 years in construction EHS Management and completed the following training:

  • Completed the OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training (within the past 5 years),
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER/8-hour annual refresher
  • Confined space entry training, RCRA and DOT hazardous waste training
  • Excavation and trenching training
  • Lockout/tagout training.

Candidate must have ability to enter enter data on to a computer and upload reports.

DO NOT RESPOND UNLESS YOU MEET THE REQUIREMENTS.

Previous work experience with the NYC DEP a plus. Candidate must have requisite experience and training or will not be considered for position.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the on site representative include:

  • Completing at least two inspections daily
  • Providing toolbox talks and safety orientations
  • Verifying that the operators of specific equipment are qualified by training certification and/ or experience
  • Ensuring compliance with the site-specific HASP, DEP standards and federal regulations.
  • Maintaining a monthly inventory of hazardous substances,
  • Recording observations of safety deficiencies by workers or unsafe work conditions and following up on the deficiencies with a corrective action pln.
  • Preparing accident reports.
  • Performing trend analyses
