Job summary

WSP has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Field Technician to join our Remediation Program Management team based in Regina. You’ll play a hands-on role in monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites across Western Canada.

In this role, you’ll coordinate field activities, maintain safety plans, collect samples, supervise subcontractors, and travel to project sites, building a solid foundation for your career in environmental services with WSP.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s in environmental technology, environmental sciences, or engineering.
  • Safety-first mindset with knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Experience with soil and groundwater monitoring, remediation, and field programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead field activities supporting environmental monitoring, investigation, and remediation programs.
  • Prepare and follow site-specific health and safety plans to protect workers, clients, and the public.
  • Collect, manage, and document soil, groundwater, and soil vapour samples with precision and care.
  • Conduct fieldwork including groundwater monitoring, borehole drilling, test pit excavations, and remediation activities.
  • Supervise subcontractors during drilling, surveying, utility locating, and excavation work.
  • Oversee remedial contractors, including directing excavations, tracking waste, and reporting progress.
  • Coordinate field logistics, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure successful project execution.
  • Travel across Western Canada for multi-day field programs in diverse environments.

WSP has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Field Technician to join our Remediation Program Management team based in Regina. In this role, you’ll play a hands‑on part in monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites across Western Canada—helping protect communities, the environment, and critical infrastructure while building a strong foundation for your career in environmental services.

Your Impact

Lead field activities supporting environmental monitoring, investigation, and remediation programs.

Prepare and follow site‑specific health and safety plans to protect workers, clients, and the public.

Collect, manage, and document soil, groundwater, and soil vapour samples with precision and care.

Conduct fieldwork including groundwater monitoring, borehole drilling, test pit excavations, and remediation activities.

Supervise subcontractors during drilling, surveying, utility locating, and excavation work.

The Skills That Set You Apart

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in environmental technology, environmental sciences, or engineering.

Working knowledge of health and safety practices with a strong safety‑first mindset.

Experience or exposure to soil and groundwater monitoring, remediation, and environmental field programs.

Ability to maintain clear, accurate field notes and contribute to technical reporting.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in field settings.

Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel for extended field assignments.

Experience in the oil and gas sector or with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments is an asset.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $48,700 – $65,500
MB & ON: $44,500 – $62,100
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $44,000 – $59,300
