Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Junior Environmental Consultant to join our Atmospheric Sciences practice in Fredericton, NB. In this role, you will support a range of environmental data analysis, reporting, laboratory testing, and field activities mainly related to the air quality field.

Direct experience is not required. We are seeking an individual with a diverse mix of desktop and field related experience who is a quick learner and a strong problem solver. If you bring solid hands‑on skills along with technical writing and analytical abilities, we will provide training on the technical aspects of the role.

As part of this role, you will collaborate with a team of highly experienced air quality scientists, engineers, and technical specialists, contributing to the delivery of high‑quality consulting services for clients across Atlantic Canada and beyond.

This position is well suited to a motivated, organized, and technically inclined individual with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills who is eager to build a career in environmental consulting. The role offers a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment with opportunities to learn, develop technical expertise, and work on projects throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond. A willingness for occasional travel is required.

In addition to air quality related field work, there will be opportunities to support a variety of other environmental field services as needed, including acoustic, aquatic, archaeological, and remediation field surveys.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret analytical data, including the preparation of tables, figures, and graphs; apply Excel and other software tools to complete data analysis, quality checks, and scientific and engineering calculations.

  • Author technical air quality related reports and documents.

  • Support the preparation of health and safety plans, work plans, and other technical documentation.

  • Conduct laboratory‑related tasks, including preparation of sampling media and apparatus, working with chemical reagents, and conducting basic lab analysis.

  • Conduct in‑field and on‑site setup, monitoring, and maintenance of air quality, acoustic, or other environmental monitoring equipment.

  • Support field program logistics, including equipment preparation, maintenance, cleaning, inventory, sample and equipment shipments, and related documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, laboratories, couriers, suppliers, and contractors.

  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and be comfortable supporting multiple projects and changing priorities.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Good quantitative and computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Microsoft 365 applications) software needed.

  • Ability to take initiative and multi‑task effectively in a fast‑paced environment, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.

  • Willingness and physical ability to perform hands‑on field work, including equipment setup at industrial sites and stair and ladder use.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality client service.

  • Willingness and ability to accommodate year‑round indoor and outdoor work, including travel within the Atlantic provinces.

  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s licence

Education and Experience
  • Diploma in chemical, electrical, mechanical, engineering, or environmental technology (or equivalent experience), or a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related Sciences program.

  • Experience in the field of air quality (stack testing, indoor, ambient monitoring) is considered an asset but not required.

  • Training will be provided; however, candidates should be comfortable working with tools and technical equipment and physically capable of performing field‑based work.

  • Two years’ related work experience or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
