Job description
Environmental Affairs Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Environmental Affairs Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the environmental function through the development, training, monitoring and reporting of environmental programs and procedures.

What you’ll do
  • Support development and implementation of the environmental management system including policies, procedures and training.
  • Assist with environmental licensing and monitoring for North American operations.
  • Manage environmental assessments for capital projects, acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Oversee government environmental reporting and data management; provide reports and compliance recommendations.
  • Support major environmental incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver training and coaching on environmental policies and best practices.
  • Act as a liaison with external regulatory agencies.
  • Represent the company on external committees to influence and respond to regulatory changes.
  • Advise on facility and equipment design to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Research regulatory requirements and industry standards to guide business decisions.
  • Collaborate with operations to promote a strong environmental, health and safety culture.
  • Manage contractor selection and oversight to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Assist in budgeting for environmental projects.
  • Contribute to long‑term environmental strategy programs and performance metrics.
What you bring to our team

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business or a related field.
  • Professional designation (e.g., CE, P.Geo) preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/French) with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong conflict resolution, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • In‑depth knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 system development or implementation.
