Role Summary

The Metis Student - Entry Level Digital Natamakewin (Executive Assistant) provides administrative, organizational, and digital support to the leadership team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who are organized, tech-savvy, and eager to learn about executive operations and Indigenous leadership frameworks. You must be able to work 20 hours a week. A remote opportunity is possible if the student can work during some BC/AB office hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to executives (scheduling, calendar management, meeting preparation).
  • Manage correspondence, emails, and digital communications efficiently.
  • Assist with document preparation, filing, and digital record keeping.
  • Support planning and coordination of meetings, events, and community engagements.
  • Assist with basic digital projects, including data entry, presentations, and reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Perform other administrative tasks assigned by leadership.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Must be a Metis student working towards: Post‑secondary education or equivalent experience in administration, office management, or related field.
  • Strong digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar tools).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative and culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Interest in learning about Indigenous governance, culture, and leadership practices is an asset.
