Job description

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a Vice President with broad experience across enterprise risk, controls, governance, and regulatory expectations within complex financial institutions. You may come from Internal Audit, Risk Management, or another risk and control function. What matters is your ability to understand how financial and non-financial risks are identified, measured, governed, and controlled, and to translate that knowledge into effective assurance and challenge.

You bring strong expertise in financial and/or non-financial risk, particularly Trading/Market Risk, Credit Risk, or Data Risk, together with a broader understanding of how data, technology, governance, and controls support effective risk management. You can connect issues across traditional risk silos, identify emerging and interconnected risks, and communicate complex findings clearly to senior leaders.

Why This Role Matters

Financial and non-financial risks are increasingly interconnected. Effective assurance requires an understanding not only of individual risk disciplines, but also of the data, technology, governance, reporting, and controls that underpin them.

This role provides independent assurance across enterprise risk activities, with particular focus on areas such as Trading/Market Risk, Credit Risk, and Data Risk, while supporting broader audit coverage across the risk organization. Your work will strengthen the firm's risk and control environment, support regulatory expectations, and provide senior leaders with insight into significant and emerging risks.

What You Will Be Responsible For
Enterprise Risk Audit & Assurance
  • Lead complex, risk-based reviews across financial and non-financial risk domains, including Trading/Market Risk, Credit Risk, Data Risk, and other areas based on audit priorities.
  • Assess risk frameworks, governance, measurement and reporting, data, technology dependencies, and control environments.
  • Lead all phases of complex audits and risk reviews, including planning, scoping, testing, issue evaluation, and reporting.
  • Review and approve audit workpapers and deliverables, ensuring conclusions are well supported and aligned with internal standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Translate complex risk and control issues into clear, actionable insights for senior and executive leadership.
Risk, Data & Regulatory Insight
  • Conduct enterprise risk assessments incorporating emerging risks, regulatory developments, strategic initiatives, and changes in the firm's risk and control environment.
  • Evaluate how data quality, governance, reporting, systems, and technology-related dependencies affect the management of financial and non-financial risks.
  • Assess risk governance, risk appetite, reporting, controls, escalation, and related oversight processes.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory and industry expectations and incorporate relevant developments into audit planning and execution.
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
  • Build strong partnerships with senior leaders across Risk, Business, Data, Technology, and the lines of defense.
  • Provide credible, constructive challenge and identify significant, emerging, and interconnected risks.
  • Participate in relevant business and risk committees as a non-voting member, providing an independent risk and control perspective.
  • Escalate significant issues appropriately and collaborate with stakeholders to support sustainable remediation.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Manage, coach, and develop audit professionals across complex and evolving risk areas.
  • Contribute to talent management, performance evaluation, and hiring.
  • Support initiatives that enhance audit methodology, risk assessment, reporting, analytics, and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk, Financial Risk, Data Risk, Risk Management, or related risk and control functions within financial services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more key risk disciplines, particularly Trading/Market Risk, Credit Risk, or Data Risk/Data Governance.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise risk management and the interconnected nature of financial and non-financial risks.
  • Strong understanding of risk governance, controls, risk measurement and reporting, data management, and regulatory expectations.
  • Understanding of how data and technology enable and influence broader risk-management processes and controls.
  • Experience assessing or operating within risk and control environments across the first, second, and/or third lines of defense.
  • Ability to lead complex, global audits or risk reviews and provide effective challenge to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and conceptual thinking skills with the ability to connect issues across risk domains.
  • Proven leadership and team-development capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex risk, data, and control concepts into clear executive-level insights.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, risk management, data, technology, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, CPA, CIA, CISA, or relevant risk/data certifications preferred.
