Job summary

IBM Consulting seeks an AI & Automation Data Scientist Associate in Canada (Calgary, Toronto, or Montreal). The role focuses on applying data science, machine learning, and Generative AI to real-world business challenges across cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud, Azure, and AWS.

You will work with a team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to design, develop, and deploy AI solutions, while collaborating with clients and internal practitioners to deliver value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated familiarity or interest in ML, AI, data mining, or predictive modeling through projects or internships.
• Experience with Python programming and ML libraries like Scikit-learn/PyTorch/TensorFlow.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI frameworks and LLM concepts (prompting, RAG).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Eligible to work full-time in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI, ML, and automation solutions for enterprise clients.
• Analyze large datasets and generate actionable insights for decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
• Support development of Generative AI, agentic AI, and analytics applications.
• Participate in PoC development, experimentation, and production deployment activities.
• Contribute to client presentations, technical demonstrations, and solution recommendations.
• Continuously build expertise in data science, ML, cloud technologies, and consulting practices.
• French fluency for Quebec-based roles.
