Job summary

Cambridge Cognition is seeking an English Transcriptionist and Speech Recognition QA for an independent contractor role. You will transcribe clinical speech data from English audio to text with a minimum of 20 hours per week, remotely.

Responsibilities include segmenting speakers, transcribing, annotating speech features (pauses, filled pauses), and working with an Associate Product Manager to develop transcription protocols.

Description:
We are seeking individuals to transcribe clinical speech data from speech audio to text in English

Role Summary:
We are seeking individuals with careful attention to detail to transcribe clinical data from English speech audio to text in English. This is an independent contractor role for which the required weekly time commitment may vary depending on project timelines, but we require a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Role & Responsibility

• Segment clinical audio data into separate speakers

• Transcribe clinical audio data in English

• Annotate notable features of speech and conversation, such as words, silent pauses, and filled pauses (e.g., “um”)

• Work with Associate Product Manager to develop protocol for transcribing in the specified language

• Assist with quality assurance of data

Required Qualifications

• Proficient in English

• Ability to work independently

• Outstanding attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Transcription experience

• Undergraduate degree in one of the aforementioned languages or academic experience in linguistics

• Experience with clinical research and/or audio data

• Experience with cognitive disorders in ageing populations
