Job Summary

We\'re looking for an Engineering Technologist / Service Tech to join our growing Nanaimo team. This role involves designing and supporting building automation systems (BAS), from engineering through commissioning, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Remotely troubleshoot BAS issues and communicate resolution to the client.
  • Participate in project handovers and gather necessary technical info.
  • Design panel/network layouts and wiring diagrams using Ainsworth tools.
  • Select and order materials per project requirements and deadlines.
  • Create commissioning checklists and support system startup and testing.
  • Program and test BAS to ensure compliance with specs and performance standards.
  • Use and customize Ainsworth/Delta tools and graphics libraries.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and clients.
  • Assist in project close-out, as-built documentation, and team collaboration.
  • Stay up to date with Delta systems and industry standards.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC/BAS systems and building codes.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and energy-related tools.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with contractors and consultants.

The annual gross base salary range is $60,000 - $90,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate\'s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Salary is one component of the Ainsworth total compensation package, which includes short-term incentives, multiple health insurance options, and life insurance, to name a few.
