A leading shipbuilding company in Halifax is seeking an Engineering Technologist to support the development of a 5-year sustaining capital program. This full-time, on-site role involves integrating capital programs, engaging with stakeholders, and managing engineering consulting firms. The ideal candidate holds an Engineering Technology Diploma and has a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Strong project management skills are essential.
As an Engineering Technologist, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of Irving Shipbuilding’s infrastructure. Supporting the Manager, Facilities Capital, you’ll help drive the design and engineering efforts behind the Shipyard’s Master Plan by developing and evolving a dynamic 5-year sustaining capital program.
This role is focused on long-term infrastructure growth across ISI sites, ensuring our facilities are equipped to meet production demands and strategic goals. You’ll continuously refine the capital plan based on changing requirements in production, safety, security, and reinvestment—helping to sustain critical assets and optimize shipbuilding operations.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
