Job summary

A manufacturing company in Metro Vancouver is seeking an Engineering Technician to support production and new product introductions. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment and applying LEAN principles for improvements. The ideal candidate has post-secondary education in electronic applications and hands-on experience with PLC programming. Qualifications

Job description

Layfield Flexible Films in Richmond is looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Technician with experience in electronic and electrical applications to join a dedicated group of engineers and operations experts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for new equipment introductions and will support new product introductions to manufacturing equipment. You will also assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and support equipment and process improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support operations in ensuring production equipment is operating to expected standards
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues that are non-routine maintenance activities
  • Apply LEAN principles to assist operations in improvement activities
  • Support the integration of new products on existing equipment
  • Support the installation, start up and commissioning of new equipment
Education & Experience
  • Post Secondary education includes industrial electronic and electrical applications
  • Knowledge of program writing and PLC problem solving
  • Some experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands on experience with PLC, HMI programming and Ladder logic

This position spends equal amounts of time on the production floor and in the office. PPE is required in all production areas. This is a permanent full-time position located in Richmond BC.

Salary range $65,-$72, annually.
