Position Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager for our client in the Food industry. The Project Manager is responsible for leading, executing, and finalizing projects precisely on schedule, within the specified budget, and using sound technical methods. This involves securing necessary resources and coordinating the efforts of both the internal team and external contractors or consultants to successfully achieve all project objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Define and align project scope, goals, and results with overall business objectives, working closely with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Keep all team members and stakeholders informed of project expectations and status clearly and promptly.
  • Proactively manage and respond to changes in project scope, identifying potential risks and developing effective backup plans (contingencies) to address them.
  • Guide, motivate, and mentor team members and contractors, encouraging them to take positive action and ownership of their assigned tasks.
  • Ensure complete compliance— all work done by or for the company must strictly follow company project management protocols and all relevant industry practices, codes, and government regulations.
  • Champion excellence across all activities and functional groups to ensure safe operations, optimal quality, improved reliability and productivity, reduced waste, and cost savings.
  • Stay current on new technologies that could enhance efficiency, lower costs, improve workplace safety, or boost product quality.
  • Significantly influence the site's short-term and long-term capital investment strategy.
Qualifications
  • P. Eng.
  • A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • Five or more years of engineering experience gained within a world-class company.
  • Direct experience with industrial processes such as Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems, pasteurization, and sterilization systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Financial and budgetary management skills.
  • Knowledge of the food industry, maintenance instrumentation, PLC, and SCADA controls.
  • Effective communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Adaptability to evolving work cultures and environments.
  • Negotiation ability.
