Position: Engineering Manager – Software Delivery & Innovation

Location: Toronto, ON (2 days onsite / week, flexibility required)

We’re working with a well‑established fintech leader that plays a central role in Canada’s investment infrastructure. They’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a full‑stack agile team and drive innovation through emerging technologies and proof‑of‑concepts.

This is a people‑first leadership role with a strong technical focus — ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and loves solving real business problems with technology.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and mentor a cross‑functional agile team (Java Developers, QEs, Sr. Data Engineers, and co‑ops)
• Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of high‑impact, mission‑critical applications
• Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and business teams to drive outcomes
• Champion innovation — lead an internal innovation lab focused on emerging tech, prototyping, and internal enablement
• Prioritize and plan delivery milestones, remove blockers, and ensure accountability
• Bring strategic thinking and adaptability to a changing technology landscape

What You Bring

• 3–5+ years in engineering leadership roles, including direct people management
• Strong background in Java-based development and modern software delivery
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud (or other major cloud platforms)
• Exposure to architecture, QA leadership, and enterprise‑scale software delivery
• Experience working on mission‑critical systems (financial services a plus)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change in a growing organization
