Michael Page International (Canada) is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering activities across two manufacturing sites in Ontario. You will establish engineering standards, drive process improvements, and build a high-performing engineering team focused on safety, quality, and productive operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading engineers, engineering technicians, or technical teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience supporting manufacturing operations, process improvement, and production problem-solving.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electromechanical manufacturing, motor production, coil manufacturing, refurbishment operations, or a similar environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation considered an asset.
  • Strong capabilities in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, process industrialisation, project management, process documentation, and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process optimisation initiatives to improve standard labour hours, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure critical manufacturing processes are fully documented through work instructions, routings, PFMEAs, control plans, specifications, and training requirements.
  • Lead defect, scrap, and rework reduction initiatives through root cause analysis and engineering-driven corrective actions.
  • Manage new product, process, and manufacturing launches, ensuring full production readiness and successful ramp-up.
  • Improve equipment and tooling reliability through engineering oversight, preventive maintenance support, and technical problem resolution.
  • Support engineering strategy development, including capital investment planning, engineering standards, people development, and technology roadmaps.

Job Description

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading engineering activities supporting heavy manufacturing operations across two sites. You will establish and maintain engineering standards, improve manufacturing processes, support production operations, and develop a strong engineering team focused on delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality results. You will also contribute to the long-term engineering strategy and ensure consistency in execution across both locations.

The Successful Applicant

You are a hands-on engineering leader with strong manufacturing expertise and a proven track record of developing teams and improving operational performance. You are comfortable working across multiple sites, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving technical and organisational improvements.
