Job summary

Alstom in Willowbrook, Ontario, is seeking an Engineering Intern (Fall 2026) to apply mechanical or electrical engineering skills on cutting-edge rail projects. You will collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Project Management teams, participate in design reviews, and support change management initiatives.

Root cause analysis of service failures and review of supplier documentation will be part of your responsibilities, plus vehicle modification activities. Fluency in English required.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your **mechanical or electrical engineering** expertise in a cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside **collaborative** and **innovative** teammates.


You’ll contribute to impactful projects, helping to solve technical challenges and improve the performance and safety of our vehicles. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (**Maintenance, Engineering, Project Management**), participate in design reviews and validation processes, and support change management initiatives, among other responsibilities.


You’ll specifically take care of **root cause analysis of service failures**, but also **review supplier technical documentation and assist with vehicle modification activities**.


We’ll look to you for:


  • Supporting technical problem‑solving related to vehicles

  • Proposing equipment modifications to improve safety, customer experience, and reliability

  • Participating in design reviews, project planning, and quality assurance activities

  • Completing root cause analysis (RCA) of service failures

  • Analyzing data and making actionable recommendations

  • Collaborating with different departments to achieve desired outcomes

  • Preparing project timelines and producing engineering reports

  • Attending and presenting at meetings with customers

  • Assisting or leading vehicle modification activities

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is 23 CAD - 27 CAD per hour.
