Job summary

Siemens Canada is seeking an Engineering Data Specialist to ensure the accuracy of engineering and manufacturing data within SAP and Teamcenter. You will act as a key link between engineering, manufacturing, and business operations, supporting product configuration and master data management.

• College diploma or technical degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Significant hands-on experience with SAP in manufacturing or engineered product environment.
• Strong experience with product structures, BOMs, routings, and configuration logic.
• Experience working with large volumes of complex data with a high degree of accuracy.
• Working knowledge of Teamcenter or similar PLM systems is preferred.
• Advanced SAP knowledge and data governance understanding.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of engineering and manufacturing data within SAP and Teamcenter.
• Serve as a Variant Configuration expert, including BOMs, routings, and production processes.
• Create, update, and manage material master data; maintain PMD data.
• Support NPI and engineering change initiatives involving BOM and routing updates.
• Troubleshoot BOMs, routings, and data inconsistencies; resolve issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams for data alignment across systems.

What will you do?

We are looking for an Engineering Data Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of engineering and manufacturing data within enterprise systems, primarily SAP and Teamcenter. You will serve as a key link between engineering, manufacturing, and business operations, supporting product configuration, master data management, and system optimization.

• Own and maintain the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of engineering and manufacturing data within SAP and Teamcenter.
• Serve as a Variant Configuration expert, including creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), developing routings and production processes, defining object dependencies, and maintaining production cockpit configurations.
• Create, update, and manage material master data.
• Maintain and update PMD (Product Master Data) for manufactured and purchased products, including list pricing, CoMa (Cost/Margin) pricing, lead times, and product descriptions and text updates.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and engineering change initiatives involving BOM updates and routing changes.
• Perform master data creation and validation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings and production data, material master data, pricing and PMD data, and info records and configuration inconsistencies.
Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure data alignment across systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data management processes, standards, and system usage.

What will you need to succeed?

• College diploma or technical degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Significant hands-on experience working with SAP in a manufacturing or engineered product environment.
• Strong experience with product structures, BOMs, routings, and configuration logic.
• Experience working with large volumes of complex data with a high degree of accuracy.
• Working knowledge of Teamcenter or similar PLM systems is preferred.
• Advanced SAP knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Teamcenter.
• Strong understanding of data structures and system integration between PLM and ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to manage large volumes of complex data efficiently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
• Process-oriented with a focus on data governance and standardization.
• Customer-focused, understanding the downstream impact of data accuracy.
