Job summary

FortisBC in Kelowna, BC is seeking an Engineering Co-op in Distribution Projects for an 8-month term starting January 2027. This role offers hands-on exposure to design, documentation, and cross-group collaboration within FortisBC’s distribution engineering team.

You will conduct site visits, help document tasks, update process materials, and support tools with Excel or scripting. Enrolled in a BEng Electrical program (third or fourth year) and in a co-op scheme; a valid driver's license is

• Enrolled in a Co-op program.
• Valid driver’s license and current abstract.

Responsibilities

• Perform site visits when working with Distribution Design Group.
• Work with Design Group to document typical work tasks and update training material.
• Update process documentation with Design Group, Regulatory and Operations.
• Liaise with other Utilities to develop strategic changes to the department.
• Provide technical support and work with the Distribution Design & Operations group.
• Update Distribution Design Tools and Tool Configuration using MS Excel and/or scripting methods.

Position Overview

The assignment will provide opportunities for engagement with engineers, managers and others in different departments in the organization, and provide an understanding of some of the workings within the operating and engineering groups at FortisBC.
