Job summary

Crozier: Consulting Engineers is seeking a Civil or Water Resources Engineering recent graduate (EIT) to join our Land Development team in Bradford, Ontario. You will gain hands-on experience across grading, servicing, and stormwater/floodplain management while collaborating with senior staff.

You’ll develop hydraulic models using InfoWorks, SewerGEMS, InfoWater and WaterCAD, and contribute to hydrologic analyses, reports, and design briefs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Experience in preparation and analysis of hydrologic and hydraulic computer modelling.
  • Working experience with hydraulic modelling software (HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, SewerGEMS, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS) and hydrologic modelling software (VO, SWMHYMO, PCSWMM).
  • Experience using AutoCAD or Civil3D is an asset.
  • Knowledge of municipal land development principles in Ontario.
  • Strong communication and technical report writing skills; ability to manage multiple timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare civil servicing and grading designs, modelling and studies for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
  • Participate in project teams to identify issues and modify designs for approvals.
  • Obtain data from various sources to prepare reports and resolve issues.
  • Prepare hydraulic models in InfoWorks and SewerGEMS for sanitary and storm capacity analyses; complete related write-ups.
  • Complete hydraulic water modelling in InfoWater and WaterCAD; prepare related write-ups.
  • Contribute to hydrologic & hydraulic modelling, detailed design, and studies for land development projects (LID, floodplain, stormwater).
  • Learn municipal engineering standards and agency requirements; liaise with authorities.
  • Draft, edit, and finalize technical reports and design briefs; manage document production.
  • Attend meetings to support Engineers.

Your Impact:

We are looking for a Civil or Water Resources Engineering recent graduate (EIT) to join our Land Development team in our Bradford office.

In this role you’ll gain technical experience in a wide range of projects, while working alongside experienced leaders in grading, servicing, and stormwater and floodplain management.

How you will contribute to the team:
  • Prepare civil servicing and grading designs, modelling and studies for a wide variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects.
  • Participate in various project teams to identify issues, modify designs to satisfy approval requirements, assisting our clients in advancing projects toward completion.
  • Obtain materials, gather data/info from various sources to prepare reports and resolve issues.
  • Prepare hydraulic models in InfoWorks and SewerGEMS to analyze sanitary and storm capacity in existing and proposed sewer systems, as well as completing associated write ups.
  • Complete hydraulic water modeling in InfoWater and WaterCAD to analyze existing and proposed water systems, as well as completing associated write ups.
  • Contribute to the preparation of hydrologic & hydraulic water resources modelling, detailed design, and related studies to support a wide variety of land development projects. Examples of this work include natural channel design/realignments, floodplain & stormwater management, and Low Impact Development (LID).
  • Develop overall knowledge of municipal engineering standards and reviewing agencies requirements (i.e. LSRCA, NVCA, MECP), and ongoing liaison with same.
  • Draft, edit, and finalize technical reports and design briefs to summarize analyses, including document production and circulation.
  • Prepare for and attend meetings to support the Engineers.
What you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience, preferably in an engineering consulting environment, considered an asset.
  • Experience in preparation and analysis of hydrologic and hydraulic computer modelling.
  • Working experience with hydraulic (HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, SewerGEMS, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS) and hydrologic (VO, SWMHYMO, PCSWMM) modelling software as well as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or Civil3D would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of municipal land development principles and requirements within the Province of Ontario.
  • Strong communication and technical report writing skills, alongside the ability to prioritize multiple project timelines.
  • Excellent time management skills, project coordination, with the ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.
