About The Role

We’re looking for an Engineering Assistant to support our Engineering team in delivering reliable, efficient energy to our customers. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing design and estimate packages, coordinating new customer connections, and helping ensure our construction and maintenance projects stay on track.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare estimates and work order design packages for electric system projects—both overhead and underground.
  • Coordinate and schedule work required to connect new customers to the electrical grid.
  • Perform load calculations and recommend basic protection coordination.
  • Secure easements and licenses when needed to support project work.
  • Track progress, update records, and ensure accurate and timely project close-outs.
  • Support post-completion reviews and contribute to process improvements.
  • Assist with documentation, project file management, and field inquiries.
  • Use your knowledge of construction standards (e.g., DCSM, AEY CMSM, N60) to support engineering design accuracy and consistency.
What We’re looking for
  • High School Diploma required; a diploma or certificate in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering Technology is preferred.
  • Power Line Technician trade certification is an asset.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in utilities or construction.
  • Familiarity with distribution system operations, basic coordination theory, and electrical design are an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
  • Comfortable using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
