Job summary

The City of Laval is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Engineering Department in Laval. You will study and coordinate municipal infrastructure projects, prepare plans and preliminary estimates, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, at least six years of relevant experience in planning and design, SST training, and a valid driver’s license with access to a car.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required and active member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Six or more years of relevant experience in planning and design of municipal infrastructures and flood protection works.
• Familiarity with the regulatory framework for water environments and flood protection works.
• SST safety training for construction sites; valid driver's license and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate studies and analyses of municipal infrastructure projects.
• Prepare plans, preliminary estimates, and schedule A for works; seal plans and specifications as required by the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

The challenges that await you

You will perform and coordinate studies and analyses of projects concerning the installation of municipal infrastructures, as well as the preparation of plans, preliminary estimates, and schedule "A". Additionally, for certain works, you will be responsible for sealing the plans and specifications in accordance with the provisions, laws, and regulations of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

The ideal profile for us

• Hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering;
• Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Have six (6) years of relevant experience, particularly in the planning and design of municipal infrastructures and flood protection works;
• Be familiar with the regulatory framework for the management of water environments and flood protection works;
• Possess training on safety for construction sites (SST);
• Have a valid driver's license and have access to a car.
