Job description

Reporting to the senior engineer, maintenance, in the maintenance engineering department, your knowledge of mechanical equipment and design will be relied upon to support surface and underground operations in a mining environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Solve complex technical problems using formal techniques to evaluate systems, equipment and failures;
  • Maximize equipment availability, reliability, and performance through effective problem solving and preventative maintenance practices;
  • Develop and refine asset-specific strategies to improve equipment health and prevent or eliminate equipment failure;
  • Work closely with maintenance personnel in the field to support daily maintenance activities and identify continuous improvement opportunities;
  • Provide technical support for new or modified site equipment, process changes, and drawings;
  • Compile data and prepare technical reports or coordinate technical reporting as required for regulatory submission;
  • Support site capital and expense projects, ensuring project deliverables are met in the form of scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering;
  • Four to eight years of relevant industry experience;
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation;
  • Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS);
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering;
  • Exposure to predictive maintenance techniques and technologies;
  • Experience in a mining/milling environment;
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems; SAP experience preferred;
  • Experience with planning and scheduling activities;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
